Alissa is the director of marketing and brings 25 years of experience in marketing communications outreach and brand strategy to the role.
She leads a growing marketing team of six in the development and management of websites, blogs, graphic design, video production, digital communications, advertising, media relations, social media, sales collateral, events, and analytics.
Prior to coming to Accounting Seed in 2018, Alissa held multiple positions in marketing communications over 18 years at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. She is a frequent guest speaker on digital marketing/branding and social media best practices. Before that, she worked at the Automotive Service Association in Dallas, Texas, managing web communications. Here, she wrote a column on digital marketing for the association’s monthly magazine, consulted with members, and planned trade show logistics and strategies.
Alissa obtained her Executive MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, which is ranked a top 10 EMBA program in the U.S. by The Economist and Financial Times (2018). She has a B.A. from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, with a focus on advertising and a minor in psychology. Alissa has won numerous marketing awards for website design, video production, and social media outreach, including: “Top Holiday Video” by Examiner.com in 2015, “Platinum Award for Specialty Web/Microsite” by MarCom Awards in 2012, and “B2B Twitterer of the Year Award for the Best Business School Twitter Feed” by B2BTOTY in 2011 (runner up in 2010 and 2012).
Born and raised around Baltimore, Alissa enjoys all things Maryland: Ravens, Orioles, Terps, crab feasts, hiking, boating, fishing, and heading down to the ocean for the weekend. She loves to travel and spend time with her family and many pets.
